TiLingo Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

TiLingo is operated by Aleksei Maksimov (“we”, “us”, “our”). TiLingo is the brand name of the service.

2. Data We Collect

Account data

  • Email address
  • Display name / username
  • Authentication provider and account identifier

We do not store your password directly in app code. Authentication is handled by third-party authentication providers.

User content and sync data

For authenticated users, we store flashcards, decks, folders, notes, related metadata, and uploaded card images on our backend to provide synchronization across sessions/devices.

Translation data

Text submitted for translation may be processed by a backend translation endpoint to provide translation results.

Subscription and purchase data

Subscription status, entitlement information, product identifiers, and expiration dates are processed via third-party subscription and billing service providers and app stores.

Advertising and technical data

Ad delivery may involve limited technical data (for example, device/app information, network information, and ad response metadata) required to serve and secure ads.

3. How We Use Data

  • Provide account sign-in and account management
  • Store and synchronize your flashcard content
  • Deliver translation results for your requests
  • Validate and manage subscription access
  • Display ads in the free version of the app
  • Protect service security and prevent abuse
  • Respond to support, legal, and rights requests

Translation input is processed to provide translation results and is not used by us for model training.

4. Advertising

At this time, TiLingo displays non-personalized ads only.

We do not enable third-party behavioral tracking or third-party analytics in the app.

If our ads, tracking, or analytics practices change, we will update this Privacy Policy before the changes take effect and request consent where required by applicable law.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

Paid subscriptions are offered through Apple App Store and Google Play, with third-party subscription service providers used for subscription state management.

Payment card data is handled by your store provider (Apple/Google) and is not processed directly by TiLingo servers.

6. Data Sharing and Service Providers

We share data only as needed to provide the service and run the app:

  • Third-party infrastructure providers: authentication, backend database, and sync operations
  • Third-party subscription service providers: subscription entitlement and billing state synchronization
  • Google AdMob: non-personalized advertising delivery
  • Apple App Store / Google Play: payments and subscription lifecycle
  • Google / Apple Sign-In: account login when selected by user

We may also share data when required by law or to protect rights, security, and service integrity.

7. Data Retention

We keep account and synced content data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

Local app data (for example, local history/databases) may remain on your device until removed by app actions, app uninstall, or device cleanup.

For privacy requests (access/export/delete), contact support@tilingo.app. We target an initial response within 30 days.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights such as access, correction, export, deletion, restriction, objection, and withdrawal of consent (where consent is the legal basis).

To submit a request, email support@tilingo.app. We may ask for verification before completing requests.

9. Children’s Privacy

TiLingo is not directed to users who are below the age at which personal data processing consent can be given under applicable law in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal data from users below that age without required parent or legal guardian authorization.

If you believe a child provided personal data to us, contact support@tilingo.app, and we will review and take appropriate action.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

11. International Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own by our service providers. Where required, we apply appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through in-app notices or similar channels.
